Last year my husband and I were at the brink of divorce and made one last ditch effort to turn things around. We took a trip, not to Bali but to a retreat designed around couples and communication and rebuilding. The experience was – wow. Probably one of the best things we ever did in and for our marriage. I was worried about coming home and back to real live and losing all that we had gained there. It’s one of many things we are doing and I can’t say that it’s specifically ‘working’ but I can’t say that it’s not. I’ve done some research on the olfactory senses and found that smells are very much tied to time and place and can put you right back in the mindset without even being consciously aware of it.
